British Columbia’s Cultural Climate: Understanding the Arts in B.C.’s Economy and Society
Alliance for the Arts and Culture
This presentation at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre covered topics such as:
- Cultural supply and demand in British Columbia (with statistics on artists and cultural workers, arts organizations, volunteers, donors, public participation, consumer spending, and government spending);
- Evidence about the value of the arts to British Columbia’s quality of life, economic vitality, and vibrancy of its communities.
The Alliance’s goal in hosting this presentation was to communicate key information about the impact of arts and culture in our communities. The presentation helped attendees communicate relevant information about the sector within their own communities.
