This report provides a portrait of the state of Theatre for Young People in Ontario in 2004, including significant information about the structure, impacts, challenges and needs of the sector. The report, based on findings from focus group sessions, individual interviews, and email questionnaires, examines the artistic and business practice in the sector as well as its financial realities.

This qualitative research project on the importance of the media arts sector in artistic and economic terms was conducted for the Canada Council for the Arts and the Department of Canadian Heritage. The report for this project clearly outlines the impacts, challenges and needs of the media arts sector in Canada. The report also lays the foundation for potential future research into this growing sector of the arts.
