Demographic Patterns in Canadians’ Performing Arts Participation
Hosted by Canada's Performing Arts Alliance
Based on the largest survey of Canadians’ arts participation, this presentation highlights similarities and differences in performing arts participation for different demographic groups. The presentation focuses on performing arts attendance by immigrants and non-immigrants, members of racialized groups (often called “visible minorities”) and non-racialized people, Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. as well as women and men. The presentation utilizes the survey’s large sample size to provide an intersectional analysis of performing arts attendance (for example, by racialized women).
